University Of Texas Nursing School Quickly Pulls Sign Warning Women Not To Show Cleavage
Women, You Do Worse On Math Tests If You Wear A Bathing Suit
The sign made it’s way up on bulletin boards at the UT Austin campus Tuesday evening, but were taken down by mid-to-late morning Wednesday, University Communications Director J.B. Bird told The Huffington Post. The sign read « Revealing clothing MUST NOT be worn while in the School of Nursing Building. It distracts from the learning environment. » It was first posted online by Jezebel . @LonghornNursing Would y’all like to explain this nonsense? Thanks. http://t.co/lGgi1ZPmZG Rebecca Rose (@AmericasBaby1) June 4, 2014 The signs do not specifically say they are directed at female students, but it only mentions women’s clothing.
We know some of this to be true; everyone has a favorite outfit they look good in and that makes them feel more confident. Professor Pine’s data consists of things like asking psycology students to put on a Superman t-shirt. They declared it made them have better impressions of themselves and that they felt physically stronger. To most people, that says psychology undergraduates are as mentally developed as four-year-olds but to Pine it became a book, Mind What You Wear: The Psychology of Fashion. Don’t believe it?
